Customer Effort Score (CES) is a metric used to measure the level of effort that customers have to put in to use a product or service. It is a customer satisfaction metric that evaluates the overall ease of doing business with a company.

To calculate CES, you need to survey your customers and ask them a question such as:

“On a scale of 1-5, how easy was it to complete the task you were trying to accomplish with our product/service?”.
